The most famous little error stamp in the world gets the larger-than-life celebration it deserves for its first one hundred years with this stunning book design. For the past year, we’ve been working under an agreement with the Smithsonian National Postal Museum and the American Philatelic Society to publish Stamp of the Century in time to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Inverted Jenny and and the advent of airmail in May, 2018. We’ll soon be announcing details of the publishing plan.
Washington artist Emily Ann Allen has created a gorgeous cover and an interior design that includes full-color images of individual stamps as well as photographs important to the many Inverted Jenny stories. The book will add new images to the lore of the stamp and supply interesting new facts and stories about collectors and dealers.
Stamp lovers, history buffs, and flight enthusiasts will be observing the centennial, and we’re working with a number of publications interested in previewing excerpts as well as scheduling presentations and book signings around the country.
Look for us on Facebook and Twitter. We regularly post stories and photos about airmail and the Inverted Jenny.
Please tell us what you think of the cover, though we admit strong bias. And feel free to share this posting with your friends and networks.
